Cheesy Beer Fondue

Ingredients:
bullet4 TBS Butter
bullet1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
bullet1 (12 Oz) Bottle of Lager Beer
bullet1/4 Tsp Dry Mustard
bullet1/4 Tsp Cayanne Pepper
bullet4 Cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Prepares 14 servings

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cook time: 50 minutes

 

Directions:
bullet Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
bullet Whisk in flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes while stirring constantly to make a roux.
bullet Add beer and bring to slow boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until mixture thickens to the consistency of heavy cream.
bullet Add Worcestershire, mustard and cayenne, stirring thoroughly.
bullet Add cheese 1 cup at a time, melting cheese after each addition. Stir fondue until it is smooth.   
bulletTurn into fondue pot and serve with cubed Cracked Wheat Beer Bread.
